Create Your Own Test

save it to disk as a regular file with .html extension, e.g. filename.html

Make sure that after creating the test that you save it as a regular file that is identical to the original source code with a .html or .htm extension. Do not save as a web archive in the Safari Save As box or "web page complete" in the firefox Save As box or any other special archive format (even though it is displayed as the default).

If you want to create a test for your iPhone/iPod/iPad, you should save it to your PC and then transfer it to your iPhone/iPod/iPad "Files" app (which you would have to download from the App Store. Just search for "Files"). I personally perform the transfer through the itunes App tab (scroll to very bottom, click add button to browse your file system for test) for my device. Provided you have saved your file as an html file, the iPhone/iPod will launch the Safari browser automatically when you click on your test .html file in the files app.

Saving to an Android is even easier. Just connect your Android device to your computer's USB port and transfer the test to the Android file system. After the transfer the file should show up in the Android "My Files" app. Before launching the test you should install the Firefox Browser to your device because for some reason the native htmlviewer App does not seem to understand javascript. After double clicking on the test in "My Files" select Firefox as the browser to view it through.

For some reason neither Chrome nor the native Android browser allow you to use them as the browser for pages launched from My Files. You can, however, still use them as the browser for the locally stored test .html file by accessing the file with a URL of type: file://sdcard/directory_test_stored_in/test.html.

*Note*: You can now create tests in both formats from this page using the same question/answer list. Just do the following:

  1. fill out the questions/answer list
  2. click on "create test" button"
  3. save created test as a .html file to your hard drive
  4. click the back arrow of your browser (your original questions/answers should still be there)
  5. click on "create iPhone test"
  6. save created test as a .html file to your hard drive
  7. transfer created test to your portable device using the instructions above
